Sad bin Muadh (R) The True Supporter of Islam

Sa'd bin Mu'adh رضي الله عنه was the chief of the Banu Abdul Ash-hal, a branch of the Al-Khazraj tribe of Madinah. He was known for dignity, honor, wisdom and courage before he was known for anything else, and he was among Islam's bitter opponents.

When he accepted Islam he did not do it quietly. He went straight to his people and told them he would not speak to a single one of them again until they believed as he had — and by evening the whole clan had entered Islam.

From then on he devoted himself to the religion's defense, supporting it with his wealth, his bravery, his judgment and all his strength — which is why he is still called The True Supporter of Islam today.

He was wounded at the Battle of the Trench and died of it. The Prophet ﷺ said that the Throne of the Most Merciful shook at his death, and seventy thousand angels attended his funeral. His body carried the scent of musk.
