Golden Series of the Prophets Companions (Set of 15 books)

These are the books that get children reading Islamic history voluntarily. One Companion per volume, told as a story rather than a lesson, in language a young reader can manage on his own — and short enough that he finishes one and asks for the next.

What holds the series together is its angle. These were ordinary people: a slave, a merchant, a shepherd, a Persian traveler, a boy of fifteen. The books show how each of them heard the message of Islam and what happened when they accepted it. That is a far more useful thing for a child to absorb than a list of dates.

The series runs to eighteen titles, but individual volumes go out of print from time to time. This package is supplied with whichever titles are in stock when your order is picked, so the count in a given set may be lower than the full eighteen. Who It Is For

Children and teenagers, first — this is the audience the series was written for. Also new Muslims, who often want the Companions introduced without a scholarly apparatus, and adults who would rather read eighteen short books than one long one.

Islamic schools and weekend academies use the set as classroom reading and as a reading-reward shelf. For a home library it is one of the better investments you can make in a child's interest in the religion, and it makes a substantial Eid or graduation gift.
