  16. How to contact us

1. Order processing and dispatch

Orders are picked, packed, and dispatched from our Houston warehouse on the next business day in most cases. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding public holidays.

Total delivery time is processing time plus carrier transit time. An order placed on Friday afternoon typically ships Monday.

In a hurry? Call or email us before you order, or leave a note in the special instructions, and we will do our best to get it out the same day. During Ramadan, the days before Eid, and the start of the school year, our volume is much heavier and dispatch may take an extra day.

2. Shipping methods and delivery times

You choose your carrier and service at checkout, where live rates are calculated for your address and package weight. We ship with:

  • USPS — our most economical option, domestic and international. Delivers Monday through Saturday and reaches PO Boxes and APO/FPO military addresses.
  • UPS — faster and more closely tracked, with guaranteed service levels. Delivers Monday through Friday only, and cannot deliver to PO Boxes.
  • DHL Express — our fastest international option, with door-to-door tracking and customs clearance handled by the carrier.

Delivery estimates shown at checkout come from the carriers and are estimates, not guarantees. Weather, customs inspection, and carrier backlogs can add time. Once a package is with the carrier, transit time is outside our control.

Shipping to a PO Box, APO, or FPO? Please select a USPS service. UPS and DHL cannot deliver to these addresses, and choosing them will delay your order while we contact you.

3. Shipping costs and free shipping

Shipping is calculated live at checkout based on the weight of your order and your destination. You will always see the exact cost before you confirm and pay — there are no surprise charges afterward.

Free standard shipping within the USA on orders over $50. International orders over $50 receive 10% off shipping. See our FREE Offers and Specials page for current promotions.

Heavy items such as complete tafseer sets and multi-volume hadith collections cost more to ship, and the calculator reflects that. If a rate looks wrong for a large or bulk order, call us before ordering — we can often find a better rate by hand than the automated calculator does.

4. Local pickup in Houston

If you are in the Houston area, you are welcome to collect your order from our store and skip shipping entirely. Place your order online, select local pickup if it is offered at checkout or leave a note in the special instructions, and we will email you when it is ready.

Please call ahead to confirm opening hours before making the trip. You are equally welcome to simply come and browse — see our Houston store page.

5. Tracking your order

When your order ships we email you a confirmation with a tracking number. You can also sign in to My Account and open your order history at any time. Tracking can take up to 24 hours to show movement after the label is created — this is normal and does not mean the package is lost.

6. International orders, customs, and duties

We have shipped Islamic books around the world since 1995 and are glad to send your order almost anywhere.

You are the importer of record. Customs duties, import taxes, VAT, GST, and brokerage fees are set by your own country. They are not included in our prices, we do not receive any part of them, and we cannot calculate them in advance. Whether anything is charged depends on your country's threshold and the declared value of the parcel.

In our experience USPS shipments are charged duty less often than courier shipments, but this varies a great deal by country and we cannot promise it. Canadian customers can review UPS brokerage and customs charges for Canada before choosing a carrier, as these can be significant on lower-value parcels.

We are required by law to declare the true contents and value of every shipment. We cannot mark an order as a gift, understate its value, or leave the customs form blank, and we cannot honour requests to do so.

Service to some destinations is occasionally suspended by the carriers. Current status is published on the USPS international service alerts page. If we cannot ship to your country when your order arrives, we will contact you and refund in full.

A small number of countries restrict the import of religious books. Please check your local rules before ordering. We cannot refund a shipment that is seized or destroyed by a customs authority.

7. Out-of-stock items and backorders

Occasionally an item sells out between your order and our packing it. If that happens we will contact you promptly with three choices:

  • Swap it for a comparable title, and we will suggest one;
  • Remove it from the order and refund that item, shipping the rest right away; or
  • Hold the whole order until the item is back in stock.

We will never substitute a different title without asking you first. If you would like to be told when a sold-out item returns, use the stock notification option on the product page.

8. Damaged, missing, or incorrect items

Please open and check your order when it arrives. If anything is damaged, missing, or not what you ordered, contact us within 7 days of delivery — sooner is better, because carrier claim windows are short and close quickly.

Email or call us with:

  • Your order number;
  • A description of the problem; and
  • Photographs of the outer box, the packing material, and the affected item.

Please keep the box and all packing material until we tell you the matter is closed. Carriers frequently ask to inspect them, and a claim can fail without them.

We ship new products in good condition unless a listing says otherwise, and we pack carefully. When something goes wrong in transit we will work with you and the carrier to put it right by replacement or refund.

Please talk to us before contacting your card issuer. Nearly every problem is a shipping mishap we can fix in a day or two, and a phone call resolves it far faster than a chargeback does.

9. Undeliverable and refused packages

Please double-check your address at checkout, including apartment and suite numbers. Correcting an address after dispatch usually incurs a carrier fee, which we will pass on at cost.

If a package comes back to us because the address was wrong, because it went unclaimed, or because import charges were refused, we will refund the goods less the original outbound shipping and any return charge billed to us. We are happy to send it out again once you confirm a corrected address; a second shipping charge will apply.

10. Returns and exchanges

We want you to be happy with what you receive. Most items may be returned or exchanged within 15 days of receipt, in original and resalable condition.

  • Prior approval is required. Contact us by phone or email before sending anything back, so we can issue a return authorisation and the right address.
  • Original shipping and handling is not refundable. On orders that shipped free, a 10% shipping cost is deducted from the refund.
  • A 10% restocking fee applies to returns and refunds.
  • Return postage is your responsibility unless the item was damaged, defective, or sent in error — in which case we cover it.
  • Clearance items are final sale and cannot be returned.
  • Digital items are non-refundable after 5 days of receipt and carry a one-month replacement warranty.
  • We reserve the right to decline a return where the item is not in resalable condition or the circumstances warrant it.

Defective and damaged items are exempt from all of the above. A misprinted, misbound, or damaged book is replaced at our cost, with no restocking fee and no return postage charged to you. Just send us a photograph.

11. Items that cannot be returned

For hygiene, safety, and copyright reasons, the following cannot be returned once opened or at all:

  • CDs and DVDs
  • Opened incense and bakhoor
  • Itr and perfume oils
  • Opened vitamins, honey, toothpaste, black seed and black seed oil products
  • Clearance and final-sale items

This exclusion does not apply if the item arrived damaged, was defective, or was not what you ordered. In those cases contact us and we will replace or refund it.

12. How to start a return

  1. Contact us first by phone or email with your order number and the reason for the return.
  2. Wait for approval. We will confirm the return and give you the shipping address. Items sent back without approval may be refused.
  3. Pack the item securely in its original condition, with your order number enclosed.
  4. Ship it back using a trackable service. We recommend keeping the tracking number — we cannot refund a return we never receive.

13. Refunds

Once your return arrives and has been inspected, we will email you to confirm and issue the refund to your original payment method, normally within 5 business days. Your bank or card issuer may take a further few days to post it to your statement.

Exchanges are processed as soon as the returned item reaches us. If the replacement costs more, we will send a payment link for the difference; if it costs less, we refund the difference.

14. Cancelling an order

If you need to cancel, call and email us immediately with your order number. We dispatch quickly, so the sooner you reach us the better the chance we can stop the package.

Once an order has shipped it cannot be cancelled. Please refuse the delivery or use the returns process above instead.

A cancellation fee of up to 10% may apply where an order has already been picked, packed, or had a label purchased.

15. A note on product images and editions

We keep our photographs as current as we can, but publishers reprint constantly and change cover art, binding, and paper stock without notice. The edition you receive may differ in appearance from the image shown, and colours vary between screens.

If a specific cover, binding, script, or printing matters to you — and for Qur'ans and hadith sets it often does — please tell us in the special instructions and call to confirm before ordering. We will happily check the copy on our shelf and describe exactly what we have.

16. How to contact us
