Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (R) The First Caliph of Islam

Most people have one friend they favor above all others. The best friend of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was Abu Bakr As-Siddiq رضي الله عنه.

He was the only person, other than the Prophet's ﷺ own wife, who accepted Islam immediately — from the first moment prophethood was announced, with no argument and no delay. That is where the title As-Siddiq, the one who confirms the truth, comes from.

He remained at the Prophet's ﷺ side afterwards, through everything, and he had no reservations at all about spending his wealth for Islam and the Muslims. He bought the freedom of slaves who were being tortured for their faith, including Bilal رضي الله عنه. He was the companion in the cave during the Hijrah.

All of the Companions recognized his superiority, and he stayed humble and sincere toward every one of them. This is the story of his life and his rise to the leadership of the Muslim Ummah.
