A guide for every Muslim, drawn from the lives of Muhammad ﷺ and the leaders who came after him.
The book recounts interesting and instructive events from the lives of Allah's Messenger ﷺ, the Rightly Guided Caliphs, the pious ancestors, famous kings and other luminaries of Islam — presented attractively, in simple and easy-flowing language.
Most of the events are taken from reliable sources, and the compilers state plainly that unreliable accounts have been rejected. In a book of anecdotes that discipline is what separates a useful collection from a pleasant one, since striking stories circulate far more readily than accurate ones.
What emerges through the events is a portrait of a particular kind of person: the clear understanding of our ancestors, their thorough and firm knowledge, their intelligence and proper comprehension, their modesty, their sacrifices, and their sustained effort to raise up the truth. That combination is what makes the book a guide rather than an entertainment, and it is offered to every Muslim man and woman.
Originally written in Urdu by Abdul Malik Mujahid and translated into English. Three further volumes in the same series — Golden Pages, Golden Rays and Golden Judgments — have been in development.
How the Series Reads
Rather than following a strict chronological order, each story stands on its own. That lets a reader take one lesson at a time — and it makes these books unusually well suited to reading aloud at home, to classroom use, and to picking up for ten minutes rather than committing to a biography.
Printed in full color, which is a large part of why children will sit with them.
More from the Golden Series
Abdul Malik Mujahid has written several volumes in this style — full color, one incident per story, each standing on its own:
