Before Islam, Khadijah رضي الله عنها was already among the most respected people in Makkah — for her integrity, her noble lineage, her judgment and her successful trading ventures. She was known as At-Tahirah, the Pure One, for a character that stood out even in a society that did not share her values.
She recognized the honesty and trustworthiness of Muhammad ﷺ long before his prophethood. She entrusted her trade to him, and afterwards — having watched how he conducted it — proposed marriage herself.
What she then did is why she is the first believer. When he returned from Hira shaking and told her what had happened, she did not doubt him for a moment. She wrapped him, reassured him, listed the qualities in him that Allah would never forsake, and took him to someone who could confirm what he had seen.
She supported him with everything she had, financed the mission from her own wealth, and stood by him through the years of boycott. He never stopped speaking of her after her death, and their marriage remains one of the finest examples of love, mutual respect and partnership in the historical record.
How the Series Reads
Rather than following a strict chronological order, each story stands on its own. That lets a reader take one lesson at a time — and it makes these books unusually well suited to reading aloud at home, to classroom use, and to picking up for ten minutes rather than committing to a biography.
