Allah said: "Call upon Me, I will answer your prayers." And the Prophet ﷺ showed what that looks like — at every moment and on every occasion he would remember Allah, calling upon Him and asking His help.
Supplication is itself a great act of worship, not merely a means of obtaining something.
There is not a person in this world without some difficulty or problem, and anyone can strengthen his bond with Allah simply by supplicating. Relief is sought by calling upon Allah directly, with no mediator between a servant and his Lord — a point the book makes deliberately, because a great deal of practice in the Muslim world quietly assumes otherwise.
Gratitude runs alongside it. Allah has surrounded us with blessings beyond counting, and thanking the Creator for them is incumbent on every human being.
Why Only the Most Important
This is the book's defining decision. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught supplications for the whole day and for a great many afflictions, and the full collections run to several hundred.
The author selected only the most important ones, so that ordinary people can memorize them all from a single book. A short list that gets learned is worth more than a complete one that gets shelved — and once these are established, the fuller collections make far more sense.
How the Series Reads
Each piece stands on its own, so a reader takes one at a time rather than committing to a continuous narrative. That makes these books well suited to reading aloud at home, to classroom use, and to picking up for ten minutes — and printed in full color, which is a large part of why children will sit with them.
