Many books have been published on the biography of the Prophet ﷺ, by many authors and compilers. This one is different, and the difference is its author.
It was written by Imam Muhammad ibn Abdul-Wahhab At-Tamimi — the author of Kitab At-Tauhid — and it had not been published before.
How It Was Recovered
A committee was appointed to collect the writings of Imam Muhammad ibn Abdul-Wahhab from across the Muslim world, working from printed editions, handwritten manuscripts and microfilm. This book was compiled from what they found.
That origin is worth knowing when you open it. This is a major scholar's own summary of the Seerah, produced for a scholarly purpose — not a general-audience retelling.
What to Expect From It
Given who wrote it, the emphasis is unsurprising and instructive. The Prophet's ﷺ mission is presented as the establishment of Tawhid and the refutation of shirk — which it was, and which a great many biographies treat as background to the political and military narrative rather than as its point.
An Arabic reader comes away understanding the Seerah as the story of a message rather than of a career.
