Golden Supplications for Children

There is not a person in this world who is not facing some difficulty or problem. And anyone can strengthen his bond with Allah simply by supplicating to Him.

The Point the Book Insists On

We seek relief from our difficulties by calling upon Allah directly, without need of any mediator between us and our Lord.

That is worth teaching a child explicitly rather than leaving him to infer it. A great deal of practice in the wider Muslim world quietly assumes otherwise, and a young person who has this settled early will recognize the problem when he meets it.

Gratitude Alongside Asking

Allah has surrounded us with blessings beyond measure, and it is incumbent on every human being to thank his Lord, his Creator and Master, for the countless blessings we live among. A child who only ever asks has learned half of what supplication is.

Why Only the Most Important

Because the full collections run to several hundred, and a child handed all of them memorizes none. The compiler chose only the most important supplications specifically so that children are able to memorize them all from a single book — and once these are established, the larger collections make sense.
