Hudhayfa Learns About Allah

Children ask about Allah early and directly, and adults often answer badly — either with something too abstract to mean anything, or with something they will have to correct later.

This book gives a young child a first answer that is accurate and that he will not have to unlearn.

Why It Comes First

Because tawheed is the foundation everything else rests on. A child can learn to pray, to fast and to behave well — and if he does not know who he is doing it for, the whole structure is standing on nothing.

Told through Hudhayfa rather than as instruction, which is the only register in which a five-year-old accepts this kind of material.
