Spanish: Las Condiciones Del Testimonio De Fe (CD)

This is the Spanish-language audio CD “Las Condiciones del Testimonio de Fe” (“The Conditions of the Testimony of Faith”), a lecture on what scholars identify as the conditions that must be met for the Shahada to be valid and meaningful, not simply spoken.

What the CD Covers

Reciting the Shahada’s words is not, on its own, what Islamic scholarship treats as sufficient — conditions such as knowledge of its meaning, certainty, sincerity, truthfulness, love, acceptance and submission are traditionally listed alongside it. This recording works through what each of those conditions requires in practice.

New Muslims wanting to understand what the Shahada commits them to beyond the words themselves, and any Spanish-speaking Muslim revisiting the foundations of their faith.

Este CD en español, “Las Condiciones del Testimonio de Fe”, es una conferencia sobre las condiciones que los eruditos identifican como necesarias para que el Shahada sea válido y significativo, no solo pronunciado. Pronunciar las palabras del Shahada no basta, según la erudición islámica: junto a ellas se enumeran tradicionalmente condiciones como el conocimiento de su significado, la certeza, la sinceridad, la veracidad, el amor, la aceptación y la sumisión. Esta grabación recorre lo que cada una de estas condiciones exige en la práctica. Es un recurso ideal para nuevos musulmanes que quieren entender a qué los compromete realmente el Shahada más allá de las palabras, y para cualquier musulmán hispanohablante que revisite los fundamentos de su fe.
