Du'a of Faizah, The

Children take to dua immediately, because asking is something they already do. The difficulty comes later, the first time something they asked for does not arrive.

A child who was taught that dua is how you get things concludes it did not work. A child who was taught what supplication actually is does not.

What the Story Establishes

That turning to Allah is itself the act — not a means to an outcome. The Prophet ﷺ said that dua is worship, and a child who absorbs that through a story about Faizah keeps supplicating through the disappointments that would otherwise stop him.

The Format

Full-color illustration throughout, short enough for one sitting, written for reading aloud. Recommended for ages five and up, and it makes a good bedtime book — which is also when a child is most likely to try what it teaches.
