Dua books for children usually present the supplications as a list. A child learns lists for a test and forgets them afterwards.
This book does it differently: the duas arrive in the order a day produces them, inside a story told by a boy named Ukasha.
Because that is how the duas are actually used. A child does not need the supplication for eating at a moment chosen by a syllabus; he needs it when food is in front of him. Learning it attached to that moment, in a story where the same thing is happening, means the memory has something to hook onto.
It also removes the sense of being drilled. Ukasha is not being taught; he is going about his day, and the reader follows him.
Waking. Entering and leaving the restroom. Before and after eating. Leaving the house and returning. Getting dressed. And the rest of what an ordinary day contains, through to going to sleep at night.
