Tafheem-ul-Qur'an (تفہیم القرآن) is the monumental six-volume Urdu translation and commentary of the Noble Qur'an by Sayyid Abul A'la Maududi. Presenting the Arabic text alongside a clear Urdu translation and a running commentary, it is one of the most widely read and influential Qur'anic works of the modern era — a labour that occupied its author for some thirty years, from 1942 until its completion in 1972.

About the Author
Sayyid Abul A'la Maududi (1903–1979) was among the most influential Muslim writers and thinkers of the twentieth century in the Indian subcontinent. A journalist, scholar, and remarkably prolific author, he wrote extensively on Qur'anic exegesis, hadith, jurisprudence, history, and the concerns of contemporary Muslim life.
