About the Author
Shaykh 'Abd ar-Rahman ibn Nasir as-Sa'di (1307–1376 AH / 1889–1957 CE) was one of the foremost scholars of Najd in the twentieth century. Born in 'Unayzah in the al-Qasim region, he memorized the Qur'an as a young boy and devoted his life to seeking and teaching knowledge, becoming a leading authority in tafsir, 'aqidah, fiqh, and the Arabic sciences. He was known for his humility, gentle character, and gift for making difficult matters easy for his students. Among those who studied under him was the celebrated Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-'Uthaymeen. He left behind a valuable body of works, of which his Qur'anic commentary remains the most widely read and beloved.
