This is the new full-color, Arabic-English edition of At-Tajwid Al-Moussawar by Dr. Ayman Roshdi Sweid, in one volume. It contains the complete rules of tajweed in the form of illustrative panels and pictures, along with QR codes.
The author has included the most correct material and detailed definitions related to the science of tajweed, using vivid illustrative pictures of the organs of speech and what relates to them, and using color to clarify concepts and distinctions.
Why Anatomical Illustration Changes Tajweed Teaching
Because the whole science rests on makharij — the precise points in the mouth and throat from which each letter is produced — and those points are invisible.
A student is told that ق comes from the back of the tongue against the soft palate and ك from slightly forward of it. He nods, and produces both incorrectly for years, because he has no way of knowing what his own tongue is doing.
A cross-sectional diagram showing exactly where contact is made turns an abstraction into something he can locate and check. That is the single most useful thing a tajweed book can do, and very few attempt it.
The QR Codes
They close the remaining half. Seeing where a sound is made and hearing it produced correctly are both necessary, and neither substitutes for the other.
Who It Is For
Serious students of tajweed, and teachers — the diagrams are as useful for explaining as for learning. The Arabic-English format suits students working toward the original terminology.
