Khashab Al Oud means oud wood, and it is the most complex of Hamidi's oud attars — a fragrance with several things happening in it rather than one dominant note.
Spicy and rosy at the opening, with a fresh citrus lift, settling into woody musky depth. It celebrates the regal heritage of Arabian perfumery without the single-minded intensity of a pure oud oil.
Set beside Rooh Al Oud, which is deep, ambery and rosy throughout, this one is brighter at the top and broader in the middle. If pure oud has been too heavy for you, this is the one to try.
Attar is concentrated oil, so a small amount on the pulse points is enough — wrists, behind the ears, the base of the throat. Do not rub it in; the friction breaks up the top notes. It can also be applied to clothing, where it lasts longer still.
Being alcohol free, it can be worn to the masjid and in prayer without question, which is why attar has remained in daily use across the Muslim world.
