Introducing the color coding at the qaida stage means a child never learns to read without the rules and then has to be corrected. He simply learns to read correctly the first time, which is considerably easier than unlearning.

Where a Qaida Fits

A qaida is the first book. It teaches the Arabic letters, their shapes in different positions, the vowel markings, and how sounds join — everything needed before a student can open a mushaf at all.

Skipping it is the commonest mistake in teaching Quran reading. A child handed a mushaf before the letters are secure learns to guess from memory rather than read, and the habit is very hard to undo later.
