The Islamic Creed for Children

"O you who believe! Ward off from yourselves and your families a Fire whose fuel is men and stones." (Surah At-Tahrim 66:6)

The command is to protect your family, not only yourself. And there is no better way to keep children safe from the Fire than to raise them, right from the start, upon the creed of the Salaf.

The Approach

The author addresses the children directly, as though they were in front of him — a fatherly register rather than an instructional one. Each topic is explained in clear, simple language, and the young reader is kept engaged from beginning to end.

That tone is the reason this book works where most children's creed books do not. Creed is abstract, and a child will follow abstraction from someone who seems to be talking to him personally far longer than he will from a textbook.

Why Start This Early

Because what a child absorbs about Allah between five and twelve is what he will hold at twenty unless something forces him to revisit it. Getting the foundation right the first time is considerably easier than correcting it later.

Who It Is For

Children aged five to twelve, read with a parent at the younger end and alone at the older. Weekend schools and Islamic school classes.
