In 1976 the Muslim World League announced a worldwide competition for the best biography of the Prophet ﷺ. One hundred and seventy-one manuscripts were submitted, in Arabic, Urdu, English, French and Hausa. This one took first place, and it has since become the most widely read modern Seerah in any language.
