The full title is Taysir Al-Karim Ar-Rahman fi Tafsir Kalam Al-Mannan, and the first word states the method: taysir — making easy.
What Makes It Different
Most tafsir works record the range of opinion: what this exegete held, what that one held, where the difference lies. That is valuable and it is also, for a general reader, exhausting.
Shaykh As-Sa'di does something else. He states what the verse means, plainly, and then draws out what follows from it — the benefits, the rulings, the points of creed and the lessons for conduct. The scholarly apparatus is behind the writing rather than displayed in it.
The result is a commentary a person can read straight through, which almost no other tafsir manages, and one that leaves him with something to act on rather than a survey of views.
Its Author
Shaykh Abdur-Rahman ibn Nasir As-Sa'di (1307–1376 AH) was among the most respected scholars of his era and the teacher of Shaykh Ibn Al-'Uthaymin. His consistent concern across everything he wrote was making meaning accessible without loosening precision, and this tafsir is where that shows most clearly.

تيسير الكريم الرحمن في تفسير كلام المنان للشيخ عبد الرحمن بن ناصر السعدي رحمه الله، المعروف بـ«تفسير السعدي». واسمه يدلّ على منهجه: التيسير.
فأكثر كتب التفسير تنقل الخلاف: قال فلان كذا وقال فلان كذا وهذا موضع النزاع — وهو نافع، وهو كذلك مُتعب لعامة القراء.
وصنيع الشيخ السعدي غير ذلك: يبيّن معنى الآية بيانًا واضحًا، ثم يستخرج ما فيها من الفوائد والأحكام ومسائل الاعتقاد والدروس العملية، والأدوات العلمية وراء العبارة لا في ظاهرها.
فجاء تفسيرًا يمكن أن يُقرأ من أوله إلى آخره، وقلّ أن يتيسّر ذلك في غيره، ويخرج منه القارئ بعمل لا باستعراض للأقوال. وقد كان الشيخ رحمه الله (١٣٠٧–١٣٧٦ هـ) من كبار علماء عصره، وشيخ الشيخ ابن عثيمين رحمه الله. مجلد واحد كبير.
