Most children who begin Hifz do not finish it, and the reason is rarely the child's ability. It is usually the arrangement around him: the schedule, the expectations, the atmosphere at home, and whether the adults understand what they are asking.

This book addresses the adults.

What It Provides

Educational strategies — proven methods and techniques for memorization tailored specifically to children, taking account of their developmental stage and how they actually learn, which differs sharply from how an adult memorizes.

Parental guidance — the role of a parent in encouraging and supervising the work, and how to create a home environment that supports it. This is the part most often missing. A child cannot carry a Hifz program on his own effort in a household organized around other things.

Spiritual and moral development — the reminder that memorization is not the whole objective. A child who completes the Qur'an and has not been formed by it has been given a technical accomplishment rather than an education.

Who It Is For

Parents considering Hifz for a child, or in the middle of it and struggling. Teachers in Hifz programs. Anyone advising a family on whether to start.

If I am to rate this book based on its content I'll probably be giving it 5 stars and Allah knows best but I'll be rating this book based on its title because that was probably led me to buying it. Because when I bought the book I was expecting to read about the story of a family and how probably they engaged on the journey of Hifz-al Quran with their children but alas what I read in the book on opening it was basically the virtues of memorizing Al-Quran which in any case could have been part of the book if it was probably in line with what I had in mind and Allah knows best. So I'm quite sorry in as much as I did find the book inspiring but then the title seems to be mis-informing as far as I am concerned, I'll be awarding the book two[2] stars because I could have simply search for books that talked on the virtues of Al-Quran etc. and Allah knows best.
