Trace, then write. That two-step sequence is the whole method, and it is the right one for a hand that has not yet learned to control a pencil.

What Is on Each Page

A letter to trace, then space to write it independently, plus a coloring activity so the child has fun while learning to form it. Non-Arabic speakers also get the pronunciation and translation for each letter and word — which matters, because a parent who cannot read Arabic can still sit and teach from this.

The Author

Alia Khaled is an engineer, researcher, educator and lifelong learner, and a native Arabic speaker. She holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Johns Hopkins and a master's in Biomedical Engineering from Cairo University.

Her stated belief is that learning should be fun, and her objective is to make Arabic enjoyable and accessible for non-Arabic-speaking families who want their children to learn the language of the Quran. The books reflect both.

Who It Is For

Children aged three to seven, and adult beginners — the tracing approach is not childish, it is just how handwriting is learned.
