The book's stated aim includes showing the student the mistaken understandings about the Qur'an and guiding Muslim youth toward the correct understanding.

Doing that early is the right order. A young person who meets a misconception about the Qur'an on a campus at nineteen has already been given the answer at nine, which is a considerably better position than encountering the question for the first time under pressure.

On the Qur'anic Stories

The book also explains the wisdom behind the Qur'an expounding upon its stories — why the accounts of earlier peoples are told as they are, and what a reader is meant to stop and take from them.
