Why an Abridgment
Sahih Al-Bukhari is unanimously regarded as the most authoritative book after the Qur’an itself, but its scale creates a real obstacle for the general reader: Imam Bukhari sometimes cited the same hadith in ten different places to support different points of jurisprudence, which makes following the collection’s legal arrangement genuinely difficult for a non-specialist.
What Az-Zubaidi Did
Imam Az-Zubaidi solved that problem by eliminating the repetition, keeping each hadith under only the single chapter where its relevance is clearest and most obvious — producing a shorter, more approachable Sahih Bukhari without removing any authentic content.
This Translation
Hafiz Abdul Sattar Hammad rendered this abridgment into fluent, lively Urdu, adding comprehensive but concise notes at the book’s most important points to increase its usefulness for the ordinary reader. A two-volume set.
