Why Bold Script Matters at This Size

Because a pocket mushaf is only useful if it is readable. Shrinking a page without thickening the script produces a book that technically fits in a pocket and cannot be recited from in ordinary light.

The bold Indo-Pak letterforms hold up at this scale, which is what makes the size practical rather than merely compact.

The 17-Line Layout

Also excellent for memorization. As with the Hafizi layouts, the value is consistency: the page breaks fall in the same place in every copy of this line count, so a memorizer builds a stable visual map of where each passage sits.

Anyone who began memorizing from a 17-line copy should stay with one.

Stiff binding with a red plastic cover — the plastic being the point, since it takes the handling that damages cloth or paper covers first.

These share the same page layout as this edition — the Hafizi layouts, used by those memorizing the Quran. Because the pages break in the same places, a reader can move between them without disturbing his memorization.

Fewer lines means larger text, but the pages break differently — so anyone who has begun memorizing should stay with the line count he learned from. Also available in 11 line, 13 line and 15 line.
