What Sets a Hadith Qudsi Apart
Both the Qur’an and Hadith Qudsi represent what the Prophet ﷺ attributed to his Lord, but scholars distinguish them precisely: reciting the Qur’an is itself an act of worship rewarded letter by letter, it forms a pillar of the prayer, and it was transcribed in full during the Prophet’s ﷺ lifetime and transmitted by uncountable Muslims, placing its authenticity beyond doubt. A Hadith Qudsi carries none of those specific rulings, and like ordinary Prophetic hadith, it requires the same chain-of-narration scholarship to establish its authenticity.
