Most books about the Prophet ﷺ are written for one audience: Muslims who already believe, or non-Muslims who are already curious. This one names a wider readership deliberately, and the choice shapes how it is written.
It addresses political leaders, academics and university students. It also addresses the hundreds of millions of good men and women in major capitals, cities and rural areas — West and East, North and South — who are seeking the truth about the Prophet of Islam, his life and his teachings, and who have no obvious place to find it.
The Author
Dr. Muhammad al-Hashimi al-Hamidi is a highly educated media figure, known to viewers of the Al-Mustaqillah channel as a man of culture and conscience — characterized, in the assessment of those who know his work, by honesty, responsibility, respect and high values.
That background is relevant. A broadcaster addressing a general audience writes differently from a scholar addressing students, and this book is pitched accordingly.
An Assessment
Dr. 'A'id al-Qarni, the well-known Saudi scholar and writer, described this as a worthy volume combining sweetness of expression, seriousness of content, careful selection of ideas and authentic documentation — and said the work deserves wide acceptance, and its author great respect for the sincerity of his intention and the soundness of his method.
Those four qualities together are rarer than any one of them. Books that read well are often thin; books that document carefully are often unreadable.
Who It Is For
Non-Muslim professionals, academics and students who want a serious account. Muslims looking for something to give a colleague where a devotional biography would not land. University and public libraries. Da'wah work aimed at educated readers.
