Mukhtasar Zad Al-Ma’ad (“Provisions for the Hereafter, Abridged”) is an Urdu abridgment of Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah’s classic work on the Prophet’s ﷺ guidance in worship, dealings and daily habits, summarized by Imam Muhammad ibn ’Abdul-Wahhab At-Tamimi.
Why the Original Matters
Allah sent His Messenger ﷺ with guidance and the religion of truth, and strict adherence to that guidance is required of every Muslim. Zad Al-Ma’ad is one of the most famous works written on that guidance — unique in that it explains the Sunnah through the Seerah and the Seerah through the Sunnah, rather than treating the two separately.
How It Was Written
Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim wrote the original, several-thousand-page work largely from memory during the Hajj journey from Damascus to Makkah, away from his library and enduring the hardships of travel — and its thousands of incidents, hadith, ayat and points of fiqh remain remarkably accurate despite the circumstances of its writing.
This Edition
This is the Urdu translation of the abridged (Mukhtasar) edition, summarized by Imam Muhammad ibn ’Abdul-Wahhab At-Tamimi, condensing the original’s scope into a single accessible volume.
Who It Is For
Urdu-speaking readers wanting the Seerah and the Sunnah studied together, in a work respected for centuries but rarely read in its full, multi-thousand-page original.
