Hajj is one of the few acts of worship a Muslim performs without ever having practiced it. He learns it in advance, then performs it once, in a crowd of millions, on a schedule that does not wait for him.

What It Covers
The rites in the order they occur: ihram and the mawaqit, the talbiyah, tawaf and sa'i, the days of Mina, standing at 'Arafah, Muzdalifah, the Jamarat, the sacrifice, shaving or shortening, and the farewell tawaf. Umrah is given in the same sequence, whether performed alone or as part of Hajj.
The Ziyarah to the Prophet's Masjid is covered on its own terms — what is legislated in the visit, and the manner of giving salam at the grave of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his two Companions.

الحج والعمرة والزيارة: دليل عربي بحجم الجيب (٣٫٥ × ٤٫٧ بوصة).
والحج من العبادات القليلة التي يؤدّيها المسلم من غير أن يكون قد تمرّن عليها: يتعلّمها قبل سفره، ثم يؤدّيها مرة واحدة، في زحام الملايين، وعلى وقت لا ينتظره.
ولذلك كان حجم الكتاب أهمّ من طوله: فهذا القطع يُحمل في الجيب، فيكون مفتوحًا بين يديك في منى لا على الرفّ في البيت.
ويعرض المناسك على ترتيب وقوعها: الإحرام والمواقيت، والتلبية، والطواف والسعي، وأيام منى، والوقوف بعرفة، ومزدلفة، ورمي الجمرات، والهدي، والحلق أو التقصير، وطواف الوداع. والعمرة كذلك على ترتيبها، مفردة أو في الحج.
وأمّا الزيارة لمسجد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فمفردة ببابها: ما شُرع فيها، وصفة السلام على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وصاحبيه رضي الله عنهما.
