Arabic: Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim (Medium Size)

Sahih Muslim is one of the two collections the Ummah has agreed to place above all others. It is also very large, and much of its bulk comes from something a general reader does not need: the same hadith repeated in several versions, each with its own full chain of narrators.

What the Abridgement Removes

Precisely that. The repeated versions and the chains of transmission are set aside, leaving the substance of each narration. For a scholar those chains are the point of the book; for a reader who wants to know what the Prophet ﷺ said, they are apparatus.

What remains is a collection carrying the authority of the original in a form a person can realistically work through — which is why abridgements of the Sahihayn have been produced and used since the classical period rather than being a modern convenience.
