This is the series that gets young children to ask for the story of a Prophet at bedtime, and the reason is the format rather than the subject.

Why Rhyme

A story in verse is heard differently. A child asks for it again, joins in on the lines he knows, and finishes a book able to recite parts of it — which is memorization without anybody calling it that.

The poetry here is written to be fun to read aloud and, as the publisher puts it, surprisingly easy to remember. Parents tend to discover the second part when a three-year-old completes a line for them.

Accuracy Underneath

Each book is loaded with Islamically accurate information, and carries an "Islamictionary" — a simplified children's glossary explaining the Arabic and Islamic words used. That matters in a rhyming book, where the temptation is always to bend a fact to fit a line.

Hard, durable full-color pages with the picture on the left and the text on the right. Each volume is 8 x 5 inches and three-quarters of an inch thick.

Nice colorful board books appropriate for elementary school age children. Thy rhyming writing strategy makes the books fun to read aloud and nice to listen to when read aloud. There are some typographical errors, particularly where they mistakenly wrote the Prophet Muhammad's name in places where they are actually talking about another prophet [probably just due to the automaticity of using the Prophet Muhammad's name in so many of their writings] but I have contacted the publisher about the error and pray that it will be corrected soon. There is a nice 'Islamictionary' page in each book that defines what the Arabic words mean for readers who are not-familiar with them - I find this particularly helpful. My children enjoy these stories and are learning about the Prophets through them.
