Be Loved by Allah

Are there any indicators that we have achieved Allah’s love? The answer is, “yes.” One of the signs that Allah loves someone is the acceptance of others he/she attains. The Prophet (PBUH) said, in the ḥadīth collected by al-Bukhārī on the authority of Abū Hurayrah:

“If Allah loves a person, He calls Gabriel saying: ‘Allah loves so and so; O Gabriel, love him.’ Gabriel in turn loves him. Gabriel then proclaims among the residents of Heaven: ‘Allah loves so-and-so; therefore, you should love him also.’ So, all the residents of the Heavens in turn love him/her. He/she is then granted the acceptance of the earth’s inhabitants.”
