Why the Commentary Matters

A hadith is short, and its implications are frequently not. Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf of Pakistan added commentary beneath each narration, which is what turns a collection you read into a collection you understand.

Without it a reader meets a text, agrees with it, and moves on. With it he learns what the scholars derived from it and why.

Imam An-Nawawi was among the great scholars of hadith and fiqh of his era, and Riyad-us-Saliheen holds an important position among the hadith collections — an extremely popular and useful compilation of authentic narrations that has been in continuous use for seven centuries.

A great gift. The small size of this book means it can be carried with you when you travel, whether that is a commute to work or a flight to another city. In this ray and age of iPhone screens and electronics, it is nice to turn your gaze, to the written page, and soak in the wisdom of this astonishing, beautiful and timeless Islamic text. Jazāk Allāhu Khayran to the publishers for bringing us this powerful book in such a nice format.

Every household should have this book. This is a reference for the entire life. It covers almost all basic topics and explained them in the light of Quran and Hadith. I would highly recommend this book to every Muslim.

The original text needs no review. Centuries of high scholarships have proven it to be one of the most important collections of hadeeth. Now, Darussalam have condensed it into a single volume. This is a must have for every single household and masjid.

A must have for every household. I have the full version, looking for a condensed version in English for my daughter who 15 and I think this condensed collection of Hadith will not only help her but will help us all in our daily life to follow the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammed [SW]. May Allah guide us all to the right path.
