Al-Ashqar’s answer is that the only reliable source on what follows death is the One who gives life and takes it, so the book works entirely from what Allah revealed in the Qur’an and through His Prophet ﷺ — the soul’s departure at death, the questioning by the two angels in the grave, and the torment or ease that follows it. From there it turns outward, to the signs of the Last Hour that the Prophet ﷺ described, many of which, al-Ashqar notes, are already visible. Throughout, the book quotes extensively from the primary texts rather than leaning on speculation, and directly corrects the myths and misconceptions that have grown up around death and the grave.
