A new edition of the Noble Quran with Indo-Pak/Persian script Arabic and translation and tafseer in both English and Urdu.
How the Page Is Laid Out
The right column of each page has the Arabic text. The middle column carries the Urdu translation, and the left column the English. Beneath the three columns, the English tafsir is followed by the Urdu tafsir where it exists.
A brief subject index in both English and Urdu is included toward the back.
Who This Solves a Real Problem For
Households where the generations read different languages.
That situation is extremely common in South Asian families in the West: grandparents read Urdu comfortably and English with effort, children read English fluently and Urdu barely, and the parents sit between them. Buying two Qurans means the family never reads the same page.
One book with both translations means a grandfather and a grandchild can look at the same verse together, each reading the column that works for him. That is not a small thing.
The Script
Indo-Pak/Persian script — the letterforms the Urdu-reading side of the household learned, which makes the Arabic column usable for them rather than merely decorative.
Comparing the Persian / Indo-Pak Script Qurans
All of these use the Persian (Indo-Pak) script — the letterforms taught across Pakistan, India and Bangladesh, which differ noticeably from the Uthmani script of Arab editions. What separates them is the line count, and that is not a matter of taste.
Fewer lines per page means larger text. It also means the pages break in different places — so a memorizer who learned from one line count should stay with it, because recall is partly built on where a passage sits on the page.
