Fath Al-Majeed — The Enlightenment of the Glorious — is the classical commentary on Kitab At-Tauhid, and the one most often taught alongside it.
Its Author
Shaykh Abdur-Rahman ibn Hasan Aal Ash-Shaykh was the grandson of Muhammad ibn Abd Al-Wahhab (d. 1206 AH), the author of the original text. That closeness matters: the commentary was written by someone who inherited the text's scholarly tradition directly, and it has carried authority accordingly.
This edition includes additional marginal notes and verification from later scholars.
What It Explains
Chapter by chapter, the commentary opens up the verses, narrations and statements of the early scholars that the original author cited — explaining why each was chosen, what it establishes, and how the argument of the chapter is built. It gives sustained attention to shirk in its open and hidden forms and to bid'ah, since those are what the original text is largely concerned with.
It remains a key reference in the creed of Ahlus Sunnah and a standard text in Aqidah instruction across the Muslim world.
