Thirty prayers, borrowed from those who prayed them best
"This book developed out of a series of lessons that I recorded as part of the Yaqeen Institute during Ramadan in 2018," writes Shaykh Omar Suleiman. "Each day, I took a prayer from one of our pious predecessors, mostly from the Companions, and taught how to call upon our Creator the same way that they called upon Him." Prayers of the Pious is the book that grew from that series.
What the book offers
This inspirational collection of prayers and reminders is built as a companion for anyone who wishes to connect to the Divine — thirty short prayers taken from the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the early generations, each paired with a short reminder that deepens the prayer's impact on the reader's own life. Read with an attentive heart, the book cultivates a love for Allah and His Messenger ﷺ and a life lived with gratitude and contentment.
How to use it
Following the series daily, and starting a personal du'a journal alongside it — writing your own prayers in the same manner the pious predecessors used — is how the author suggests connecting to Allah the way they connected to Him.
