200 Golden Hadiths

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever comes to know one hadith of mine should spread it."

The compiler explains what prompted this book, and it is worth repeating: he came to the realization that many Muslim youth have not memorized even one hadith of the Prophet ﷺ.

The Selection Principle

He chose 200 smaller hadith for one reason — so that young people can memorize them easily and then spread them.

That is a different criterion from the one most collections use. These were not selected for theological weight or legal significance; they were selected because a fifteen-year-old can learn them, and a hadith learned is worth more than one admired.

Why Short Works

Length is the barrier. A young person told to memorize hadith usually meets a long narration first, fails, and concludes it is not for him. Two hundred short texts remove that entirely — the first one takes a minute, and the confidence carries.

Who It Is For

Young people above all, and the parents and teachers working with them. Weekend schools and youth groups — two hundred hadith maps neatly onto a year. Also adults who have never memorized any and would rather start somewhere achievable.
