Sufyan As-Thauree was a scholar who illuminated the world with his knowledge and who revived certain aspects of the Prophet's Sunnah that would otherwise have been forgotten. He is a revered and noble scholar, a status he earned although he fled from all forms of fame and popularity throughout his life, which has been a good example of piety, purity, worship, righteousness, humbleness, fearfulness and repentance.
