Who is God? It is the first question, and the one every other religious question depends on.

What Makes It Suitable for Street Da'wah

Three things. It is short, so someone will actually finish it. It starts from a question the person already has rather than from a claim they have no reason to accept. And it costs little enough to hand out in quantity without thinking about it.

Those are the practical requirements of anything given away at a table, and most material fails at least one of them.

Why This Question Rather Than a General Introduction

Because a general introduction to Islam answers questions the listener has not asked yet. Who is God is a question most people have turned over privately and never resolved — and a clear, unfamiliar answer to it is far more likely to be listened to twice.

It also goes straight to the point of difference. Almost every objection to Islam that comes up at a da'wah table traces back to a different underlying idea of who God is.

Masjid da'wah committees, campus Islamic societies running awareness weeks, and individuals who keep a few in the car. Buy several — the entire point is to give them away.
