Quran & Sunnah - A Guide for Humanity to the Noblest of Values (DVD)

This talk addresses the verse of Allah: "Verily this Quran guides to that which is most upright" [17:9], and demonstrates how the Sunnah truly guides us to the highest of morals and values — values such as justice, equality, mercy and compassion, honesty and integrity: in a word, noble character.

What the Verse Claims

Something quite specific. Not that the Quran contains good advice, but that it guides to that which is most upright — the best of the available paths, in any matter.

That is a claim that can be tested, and the lecture treats it as one. It works through the values named and asks in each case what the Quran and Sunnah actually direct, and how that compares with the alternatives on offer.

Why Character Is the Test

Because the Prophet ﷺ said he was sent to perfect noble character — not to add rituals, but to perfect character. A religion that produced correct worship and poor conduct would have failed on its own stated terms.

The lecture takes that seriously, which makes it as much a challenge to Muslim listeners as an argument to others.
