Sindhi cap - (Small)

The Sindhi cap is unmistakable: intricate embroidery, bright color, and often small mirror work, with the front cut away in the traditional shape.

Why Children Take to It

Because it does not look like a plain white cap. A child who has to be reminded to wear a kufi will put this one on unprompted, and that is most of the battle at this age.

Getting a boy attached to covering his head for prayer while he is small is considerably easier than arguing about it later.

Where It Comes From

Sindh, in southern Pakistan, where the style is a matter of regional identity as much as religious dress. It is worn across the subcontinent and among the diaspora.
